Helping Insure more Georgians…
Through Common-Sense, Market-Based Solutions
“Healthcare reform seems to be on the mind of every American today. It is an important national debate that needs a good dose of common sense injected into the dialogue. No matter what Washington finally decides, the state of Georgia has a duty to its citizens to provide common-sense, market-based health insurance options to those who can afford it, a quality “safety-net” for those who cannot, and a trauma network that is available to all Georgia’s citizens.”
- Lt. Governor Casey Cagle

HEALTHCARE IN GEORGIA
Georgia must continue advancing the private sector initiatives that expand access and respect a doctor-patient relationship. Championing tort reform must be a top priority so that doctors can practice medicine without the fear of frivolous law suits. Citizens deserve to enjoy an environment where affordable healthcare options are in place. Lt Governor Cagle supports a consumer-driven marketplace of health insurance options offering the same choice and competitive pricing that free-market systems provide.

BUILDING A SAFETY-NET AND VOLUNTEER COALITION
Lt. Governor Cagle applauds the many communities who have come together to provide a “safety-net” for those who are uninsured. Thanks to the many selfless doctors and nurses who volunteer their time, the working poor have access to quality healthcare.

ENSURING TRAUMA CARE ACCESS FOR ALL GEORGIANS

Georgia has a duty to ensure emergency access to a fully operational trauma care center for each and every citizen where qualified trauma physicians are available to provide life-saving care in the critical few hours following a serious injury. Today, that network of trauma hospitals is not accessible to many parts of the state. Georgia can and must do better. The state’s intent is to ensure a quality network of hospitals ready to provide urgent care for its residents and visitors.
